FLEX

Spencer Rattler's trade to NO marks a new chapter, but his recent usage signals suggest he remains a speculative FLEX play.

Role & volume

Rattler has shown inconsistent rushing volume in recent games, with carry shares ranging from 0% to 17.4%, indicating variability in his role.

Projected role

As the new QB for NO, Rattler's projected role is uncertain; however, he holds a QB58 value rank, suggesting limited upside as a starter.

Range (floor–ceiling)

Given his inconsistent usage and low value rank, Rattler's range likely caps at a modest FLEX ceiling with a significant floor risk.

Risk & Opportunity Analysis (2 flags)

Injury Contingency Value
Rattler remains the primary backup with 2025 starting reps on tape, so a Shough injury would immediately hand him a full-time role, preserving speculative streaming/backup value.
Trade Speculation
Reported trade interest from other teams in 2026, even with New Orleans opting to keep him, signals some external belief in his talent that could resurface as a competition path elsewhere before his contract expires after 2027.
