Hibner sits behind Mark Andrews, veteran blocker Durham Smythe, and is in a direct summer competition with fellow rookie Josh Cuevas for the rotational pass-catching reps. Near-term receiving volume is minimal.

Andrews just signed a 3yr/$39M extension ($26M guaranteed) that locks him in as the clear TE1, capping Hibner's ceiling for at least the next two seasons.

At 24 as a rookie (Michigan-to-SMU transfer), Hibner is older for a developmental TE, compressing the runway on the slow TE breakout curve.

Ravens have publicly described Hibner as a potential long-term successor to Andrews and an Isaiah Likely-type role; the receiving vacancy Likely left (signed with NYG) is now open beyond Andrews.

Baltimore traded up (surrendering a 5th and a future 6th) to secure him, a modest but real signal of organizational belief above his Day 3 slot.
