Dalton Schultz signed an extension this offseason (through 2027) after a career-high 82 catches/106 targets in 2025, and Houston added veteran Foster Moreau to a now-crowded room that also includes Cade Stover — Klein is buried as the backup 'Y' and faces no clear path to volume in 2026.

Klein is an extreme project: a former German soccer player with only ~12 college starts who caught just 24 passes for 248 yards and 1 TD at Michigan in 2025. Receiving production must be largely projected.

Being selected 59th overall (2nd round) is premium investment for a TE — the Texans' front office is telegraphing long-term starting intentions. High draft capital at the position historically correlates with eventual TE1 breakouts and is the single most important dynasty signal here.

C.J. Stroud is an ascending young franchise QB with strong accuracy and a willingness to target tight ends. Stroud-to-TE chemistry is among the most valuable pairings in dynasty, and Klein's long-term ceiling rises considerably if that connection develops in 2027-2028.

At 6'6", 248 lbs with a 4.61 40, 36-inch vertical, and 9'9" broad jump, Klein profiles as a high-athleticism mold-breaker at the position. If his route-running catches up to his frame and speed, he has the physical tools to be a genuine receiving threat.
