Kendre Miller

Miller suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Bears, which knocks him out for the rest of the 2025 campaign. He could have a chance at making it back for Week 1 of next season, though it will be contingent on him avoiding any setbacks in the long rehab process from surgery.

Rookie Devin Neal figures to slot in as the RB2 for the Saints. Neal and other acquisitions represent immediate competition for Miller's 2026 roster spot and role.

The Kamara succession window was Miller's primary dynasty bull case; Etienne's 4-year commitment at $13M/year directly and durably forecloses that path. The Saints have structurally committed their backfield around Etienne for the foreseeable future.

Miller played a season-high 21 snaps on Sunday before injury, and in Week 5 against the Giants, Miller handled more carries than Alvin Kamara, and Miller played a season-high 39 percent of the snaps with 10 carries for 41 yards and one catch for 8 yards on one target. This demonstrates offensive role expansion was occurring.

The Saints' overcrowded backfield makes Miller a logical trade or release candidate. A move to an RB-needy team could substantially revive his dynasty value given his age-23 profile and pre-injury efficiency flashes.

Before the ACL, Miller had posted a career-high 193 rushing yards through 7 games and showed touch-efficient upside. That skill set remains latent if he can secure a legitimate opportunity elsewhere.

Kamara is 31 and Etienne has his own injury history; an injury ahead of Miller is the lone in-house catalyst for touches, but it is a low-probability lottery ticket.

Miller could potentially have a longer future in New Orleans than Kamara, especially if he continues running powerfully and effectively. At age 23, Miller has multi-year runway if he can return healthy.
