Risk Flags
6- Persistent Rotational Role
JuJu recorded three catches or more in only five of the first seven games and serves in a rotational role unless Rice, Worthy or Brown miss time. He's clearly the 4th WR on the depth chart behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Marquise Brown.
- Free Agency Uncertainty
JuJu signed just a one-year deal with KC prior to the season and will head into the offseason looking for another deal, whether with the Chiefs or elsewhere. He's listed among Kansas City's 2026 free agents, and the Chiefs front office suggests they cannot continue with the JuJu approach long-term.
- Injury Concerns
Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL in December 2025 and is targeting Week 1 2026 return but faces 9-12 month recovery. Even if he returns, uncertainty around timing and effectiveness severely impacts JuJu's already-limited upside.
- Usage & Volume
JuJu tallied just four catches for 27 yards over seven games in the middle of the season despite being available, demonstrating that even when healthy, he commands minimal targets relative to the WR room.
- Target Competition
JuJu is at best WR4-5 on a team with Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, Jalen Royals, and Tyquan Thornton all ahead or competing. His 4.3 PPG and #89 PPR season rank are real-production confirmation of a non-startable depth role.
- Roster Uncertainty
Signed as a veteran-minimum depth piece into a suddenly crowded room — the Giants also added Odell Beckham Jr. and Braxton Berrios this offseason. JuJu is fighting Mooney, Calvin Austin III, OBJ, Berrios, and rookie Malachi Fields just to secure a roster spot, let alone snaps.
