Even healthy, Caldwell entered a crowded Kansas City receiving corps behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals, Cyrus Allen, and Nikko Remigio, leaving little immediate target share for an unproven UDFA.

As an undrafted free agent on a reserve/injured designation, Caldwell has no guaranteed roster spot for 2027 and his standing could be revisited via injury settlement or release once healthy.

Caldwell drew enough camp buzz as an undrafted rookie to be characterized as a fan-favorite stash, and a full year to recover and develop could position him for a 2027 roster battle if the knee heals cleanly.
