King signed as an undrafted free agent with only $250K guaranteed and enters a Panthers QB room that already includes Bryce Young, Kenny Pickett, and Will Grier. He faces a near-impossible path to the 53-man roster and is a strong candidate to be released or land on the practice squad.

With Bryce Young entrenched as the starter and Kenny Pickett as a capable veteran backup, King is at best QB4 in Carolina. He would need multiple injuries ahead of him just to see a regular-season snap at QB.
