Risk Flags
4- Role Elimination
Laube enters 2026 as effectively the Raiders' RB4, buried behind Ashton Jeanty, Zamir White, and newly drafted Mike Washington Jr. (R4, P22). His entire 2025 offensive contribution was 7 carries for 9 yards — his roster value is special teams, not backfield production.
- Draft Capital
The Raiders used a Day 3 pick on Mike Washington Jr. explicitly to fill the complementary role alongside Jeanty, the exact role Laube theoretically competed for. Coach Klint Kubiak publicly stated he wants a 'two-man show' at RB with Jeanty, and that partner is now Washington Jr., not Laube.
- Age Concerns
RB age 26 — entering/past typical value cliff
- Contract Risk
Under new head coach Klint Kubiak, Laube's 53-man roster spot is not guaranteed given the crowded backfield of Jeanty, White, and Washington Jr. A pure special-teams back at age 26 is expendable if the coaching staff values developmental upside elsewhere.
