Cam Skattebo (4426 value) is recovering from a Week 8 dislocated ankle but is ahead of schedule for 2026 camp, and Tyrone Tracy (2555 value) is entrenched as the RB2. Singletary is already the third option before any draft additions.

Singletary carries a $6.5M cap hit for 2026 with only $1.25M dead cap, making him a prime candidate for release as the Giants need cap space. Multiple reports indicate he's expected to be cut this offseason to save $5.25M.

The Giants hold pick #5 in the 2026 draft and are heavily linked to elite RB Jeremiyah Love (Notre Dame, 4.36 speed). Adding a top-5 RB would immediately push Singletary to RB4 on the depth chart.

He opens 2026 as a clear RB3 behind Cam Skattebo (4494) and Tyrone Tracy Jr. (2660); season-long 6.4 PPG and #45 PPR rank reflect bench-level dynasty output.

New HC John Harbaugh was hired in January 2026 after Daboll's mid-season firing. Harbaugh's 18-year Ravens tenure was defined by a single workhorse model (Derrick Henry in 2024-25), leaving virtually no room for committee veterans at the bottom of a depth chart.

Skattebo was only at 75% recovery from his gruesome Week 8 ankle injury as of March 2026, targeting training camp. An ankle recurrence — not implausible — would elevate Singletary from irrelevant to a short-term streaming back behind Tracy.

When higher-value backs are sidelined, Singletary has historically earned goal-line and short-yardage carries. The Giants scored 17.0 points in Week 17 with Singletary in an expanded role, suggesting he can convert opportunities near the end zone.

Despite backup role, Singletary scored 5 touchdowns over final 7 games of 2025 season, showing some red zone usage that could provide TD-dependent flex appeal if volume materializes.

NYG's only 2026 draft addition was WR Malachi Fields (R3P10), defying pre-draft speculation that they might take Jeremiyah Love at #5. The backfield is not getting more crowded from draft additions, which removes one of the prior analysis's bearish catalysts.
