Dameon Pierce

Kansas City has a crowded RB room with Isiah Pacheco as the clear lead back and recent additions potentially further limiting Pierce's role. His path to consistent touches remains unclear despite being in a prolific offense.

Pierce played only 4 carries for 10 yards in Week 18 despite six weeks with the team and was kept inactive for Weeks 16-17. He sits behind Brashard Smith (2273 value), Isiah Pacheco (2177), and Kareem Hunt (1462) on the depth chart.

Andy Reid remained non-committal about Pierce's usage even in meaningless Week 18 games, stating he needed to 'see more' from Pierce in practice. This fundamental lack of trust suggests Pierce doesn't fit Reid's offensive system.

Pierce bounced from the Houston Texans (released Nov 2025) to KC's practice squad, earned one active-roster game, then departed for Philadelphia. Three teams in five months signals the league views him as fringe roster depth, not a viable starter.

Pierce is RB4 on the Eagles behind Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley after signing a one-year, $1.29M minimum deal with only $250K guaranteed. His standalone touch path is effectively zero behind Barkley's bell-cow workload.

Both Pacheco and Hunt are free agents, and reports indicate the Chiefs plan to let Pacheco walk. However, KC is targeting higher-profile free agent RBs and has only Brashard Smith under contract, making Pierce retention unlikely.

Pierce received practice squad offers from multiple teams (Chargers, Bears, Broncos, Eagles, Colts, Bengals) in November 2025. An RB-needy team could sign him to a cheap prove-it deal where he'd have clearer path to touches than in KC.

Philadelphia's offensive line is elite and Barkley is injury-prone. A Barkley absence would create emergency value for whoever survives the Eagles' depth chart competition, though Bigsby and Shipley are ahead of Pierce.
