Aiyuk tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus in Week 7 of 2024 and has played just seven games for the 49ers after signing his four-year, $120 million contract extension in 2024. No clarity on return timeline exists.

Aiyuk failed to attend meetings and declined to participate in other team activities in recent months. Aiyuk stopped showing up altogether and, according to Shanahan, cut off communications with anyone in the building.

If released, Aiyuk could sign with a new team post-June 1. However, no trade suitor would take his contract as-is, and Aiyuk would need to renegotiate for a trade to occur. Dynasty value depends entirely on landing spot and health.
