Risk & Opportunity Analysis (3 flags)

Risk Flags

Turnover Risk
In the 2026 opener under new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, Mayfield lost three fumbles despite a clean interception total; one game is a small sample, but early friction with a new scheme is worth monitoring for weekly floor.

Opportunity Flags

Contract Situation
After stalled negotiations, Mayfield signed a three-year contract extension with Tampa Bay in September 2026, resolving the 'prove-it year' uncertainty and cementing him as the unchallenged starter over backup Jalon Daniels for the foreseeable future.
Usage & Volume
Mayfield remains locked into a full-time, every-snap role with carry share trending upward, giving him a rushing-driven fantasy floor on top of his passing volume within Robinson's new offense.
